Social Work Reality No.2

This book provides illustrative cases out of the social work experience. It describes and reports on the process of social work preferring to apply a generic rather than specialist perspective. Cases are selected out of clinical and community based experiences and illustrate the reality of the range of social problems with which Caribbean people are faced. As it reports on the case experience of social work professionals, it brings home clearly the fact that the professional ethic and the techniques of social work intervention are undeniably international in application. The challenge is to accept and work with the cultural explanations and permissives within this professional ethic.
